Fine spirits made from regional herbs and spices
Landscapes are not only characterised by the people who live there. The soil and climate of a landscape characterise the plants that grow there. They determine the "terroir": you can taste where they come from. The Jörg Geiger manufactory has dedicated its own line to three of these botanicals. The harsh climate, the barren soils and the high altitude provide a habitat for many herbs and spices. These include: Juniper, wormwood and caraway.
Raw materials from our forests, heaths, fields and meadows are the main protagonists of our products.
Guaranteed origin
Swabian WiesenObst comes from local orchards that fulfil high standards of environmental, nature and cultural landscape protection. An external inspection body ensures compliance with these added values.
Deeply rooted
Deeply anchored in the ground by taproots, the old meadow fruit trees reach a stately size of up to 15 metres. We owe this to the work of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers.
Genuine flavour
The distinctive and special flavour of WiesenObst comes from nutrients and minerals that the trees absorb through their deep roots from the lower soil layers and are thus better supplied.

festive products from WiesenObst
Jörg Geiger is able to trace his fascination with old Swabian fruit varieties back to his childhood. Looking into the history of the Champagner Bratbirne, a special kind of Swabian perry pear, inspired him to breathe new life into the tradition of sparkling pear cider.
For centuries, it has been the queen of pear cider varieties - changing with the times, rising with the trends. One of ou latest products, a true original and pioneer in non-alcoholic aperitifs and food accompaniments is our alcohol-free Champagner Bratbirne pear cider.

Preserving tradition, protecting nature
In order to preserve the unique cultural landscape of meadow orchards in our region and protect this unique natural monument, we have opened up some of our products to a wider audience. As a result, we now also offer the right meadow fruit speciality in the non-alcoholic range with our individual product lines. The growing awareness of our Manufaktur Jörg Geiger brand is therefore of great benefit to us in the development of our sustainability projects (revitalisation of the soil, soil diversity, nature conservation and preservation of varietal diversity).
"If you want to preserve old varieties, you have to understand what they were planted for over 150 years ago," says Jörg Geiger, who is Chairman of the Swabian Meadow Fruit Association.
The MeadowFruit ecosystem
MeadowFruit areas are an ecological system in which very different organisms live and thus enable others to live and survive. The main aim is to support the coexistence of above-ground and below-ground organisms, the interactions of trees, grass, herbs, birds and insects as well as earthworms, tiny soil organisms and fungi (mycorrhizae). They give each other what they do not have themselves.
WiesenObst is therefore one of the so-called permacultures: a permanent community of fruit trees, berry bushes, grass and deep-rooted herbs in one area. This permaculture is modelled as closely as possible on a forest-like landscape. And this can only succeed with healthy soil and diverse soil life. Both are the prerequisites for high-quality meadow fruit.
